Health Administration (MHSc)

Institute - Health Policy, Management and Evaluation
Institute website - http://www.ihpme.utoronto.ca/
Program website - http://www.ihpme.utoronto.ca/about/pp/mhsc.htm

The MHSc Health Administration Program brings together health policy, business and management in a comprehensive approach for today's complex health care environment. Designed to prepare graduates for the unique demands of leadership within the health sector, the Program brings a health services focus to the principles of business and management, translating and applying them to the specific issues and constraints of the health care environment.

Learning is problem-based and instruction takes a variety of formats allowing learners to explore and apply subject material with assistance and guidance from faculty. A primary feature of the Program is that the majority of the classroom time is devoted to small group activities that allow learners to develop the ability to use concepts, as opposed to simply learning about them. All courses and the Program overall have clearly articulated learning objectives that, in combination, permit the learner to develop specific competencies. As well, there is a comprehensive evaluation and feedback component that allows instructors, courses and the Program to benefit from ongoing improvement.
